Professional Development

Turnitin is dedicated to building better teachers to improve student writing. Educators will benefit from free professional development opportunities in our Turnitin Academy Live webinars. Institutions can also take advantage of Turnitin's additional professional development modules which can be customized and delivered for the unique needs of each institution. In addition, Train-the-Trainer sessions are also available to help build internal, site-level training capacity.

Turnitin Academy Live

Turnitin Academy Live is an online professional development course—available live and on-demand—geared toward taking instructors beyond plagiarism prevention and to a powerful pedagogy for 'writing to learn.' Each one-hour class explores practical methods for incorporating the use of Turnitin to encourage original writing, deliver more meaningful feedback, engage students, and streamline class activities. Classes can be taken individually or as an entire series for continuing education units(CEUs).

This fee-based, customized training session will help schools and institutions build internal training capacity by teaching administrators, technology trainers, and professional development leaders how to conduct Turnitin usage training for all instructors and students at their sites.

* Turnitin Academy Live classes are eligible for earning Continuing Education Units (CEUs) in partnership with Saint Mary's College of California for a nominal fee ($50 for 1.0 CEUs/10 classes). After participating or watching ten sessions you can submit your CEU request to St. Mary's College. Further instructions and forms are available during webinars. The Continuing Education Unit is a U.S. recognized unit designed to provide a record of an individual’s continuing education and/or professional growth accomplishments.
